Lonestar Prestress Manufacturing delivers first 40’ wide
Easi-Span precast concrete building to Ft Huachuca, AZ.
Houston,
Tx . –The
United States Army recently took delivery of a 40’ wide by 90’ long
Easi-Span precast concrete equipment building for its Ft Huachuca,
Arizona installation. The building was purchased from Lonestar Prestress
Mfg., Inc (LPMI) located in Houston, TX by Allcom Global Services,
a full turn-key EFI&T (engineer, furnish, install, and test)
contractor. This is the first 40’ clear span building produced by
LPMI and is engineered to withstand 140 mph winds. The integrity
of the Easi-Span Building is expected to provide enhanced stability
for the equipment and personnel on the base.
This is the fifth LPMI Easi-Span Building purchased by Allcom for military projects in the last eighteen months. In the fourth quarter of 2007, Allcom took delivery of three 24x40 buildings in west Texas and in April of 2008, LPMI delivered and erected a 30x40 building in southern Oklahoma. According to Tim Atherton, Project Manager for Allcom, Lonestar’s Easi-Span Buildings have numerous advantages over conventional construction materials. “They have excellent lead times, are affordable, and precast goes up in a matter of days. The roof systems are post tensioned concrete and weather tight with no membranes to maintain. Because the entire building is constructed from precast concrete panels, the maintenance and operating costs over its 75-100 year life will be extremely low, not to mention the fact the walls are made from foam filled sandwich panels which carry an R-26 energy rating.”
Easi-Set originated the concept of a Transportable Precast Concrete Building. Easi-Set and Easi-Span Buildings have led the industry as the precast buildings of choice. They provide durability, flexibility, convenience, cost-effectiveness and long lasting security. Easi-Set Buildings are installed in a day, require no foundation and can be relocated as needs change. Easi-Set Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Smith-Midland, licenses the production of proprietary, precast products around the world.
